On Purpose

Cowboy Logic

Blue_hills My husband and I are movie fanatics.  We have seen a lot of westerns lately.  I was raised on the Good Book and dark country songs, but I just don’t understand the thinking of these men.  When someone gives them a job and it’s to shoot somebody, why don’t they just do it?  Instead they prowl around in the dark, angling for the right shot, running through the woods, hiding behind trees and falling in creeks with rushing rapids.  Two hours and countless chances to "get the bad guy" later, I want to stand up and yell, "Just do it! Shoot him already!"  I asked God about it and He said that it wasn’t my job to understand the mysterious ways men think.  It’s my job to not try and play the part of the man in my relationships.  I am only to be the loving, ever respecting woman.  That’s perfect for me, because if I were the Cowboy in a shoot ’em up movie, you’d spend an awful lot of money for five minutes of entertainment.    "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord” (Isaiah 55:8).  Amen
