Scratch Off

Have you ever had one of those scratch off pictures that is covered with heavy black wax and you scrape it away with a wooden stylus to reveal the picture underneath?  I had a few of them as a child and loved to carve off the black to see the beautiful, vibrant colors below.

Our lives are like those pictures.  We all begin with a bright incredible story.  Our story is covered with a thick, black, sticky wax.  Then, when we find God and declare him as our one and only, a large part is scraped away to reveal our snow white heart.  God makes that part of our picture clean.  It isn’t just an event, an isolated experience, but actual eternal sanctification.

We begin to acknowledge the gifts, talents, and purpose God has given us, and in the process, more of the picture is scraped away.  Life goes on and more and more of the picture is revealed.  Sometimes the scrapes are deep and the picture is torn.  After, if we look closely, God tapes the picture and it is even  better than before.  Our story is stronger, more vibrant and brighter than ever.  More love is revealed in the picture.  I can’t wait to see the rest of the beautiful picture.

Relationship thought #22 – Recognize- We have to recognize that everyone has a story.  All the people in your life have a beautiful, vibrant and loving story that God is trying to tell.  We also must let our story be revealed to the people we are close too.  God is love and His only desire is for that love to reign in every believer’s life. When we are obedient to God, he reveals the beautiful picture.

"…He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him."  John  15:21

Love and blessings,

Audra
