Starbucks at the end of the Tunnel
Well this week I have tackled a big hike which included six dark train tunnels. Go to 5 Minutes for Mom to see what everyone else it tackling!
The train used to run from Manitou Springs, CO up Ute Pass. My grandfather rode that train to school and so it was a thrill to hike around the area where the old tracks were and we went in six train tunnels. It was a tackle because of the altitude and because of the steep incline to get in and out of the hike. My son and I even ran part of the trail.
After several miles and in the final tunnel, there was the most wondrous thing. We shined the meager flashlights we head on an arch and I saw it…….The Starbucks logo……..Most obscure Starbucks in the world. The picture isn’t good…..but you get the idea.
That is cool! Probably the most unique tackle this week! Stop by my tackle, it is the green bean brigade!

Wow! Awesome! That must have been so much fun! The Starbucks thing is a joke, right??!?
What at pretty site at the entrance.
Ooo, those tunnels look both cool and spooky!
WOW! That’s a “Tackle” I do not know I could do; of course if there’s Starbucks at the end of the tunnel you might see me racing by you!
That’s really funny. My husband loves Starbucks. I guess they are putting Starbucks everwhere. Just Kidding. Good Job on your hike. Sounds like a lot of fun.
Seriously? Joke, right? But funny! Imagine all the other places we could put a Sbux. Like the top of Everest?
WOW! Thanks for visiting me!
I am really impressed with your hike! I LOVE trains and tunnels, and hiking to see them sounds wonderful! My sister used to love in Colorado, and I miss it! I lived in Flagstaff for awhile, and it is alot like Colorado.
Sounds like now you are down in Phoenix? We have hot weather too, here in Palm Springs! LOL
Enjoying your blog!
Hiking throught tunnels sounds fun! Although I tend to get a little claustophobic…but it still sounds fun!
