Frugal Friday (25 lbs of Love)
I met my husband when I was 15. Ever since I’ve known him, he has always loved these clear file folders. We only use them to hold documents like airline tickets, so they are only occasionally used. He had several over the years, but recently we had gotten down to the final few. I came upon our last one, cloudy and scratched up. We searched all the big office supply stores for replacements, but came up empty. The only thing I had to go on was the word "Sparco" and the number 00606. One day I sat down and googled it.
I was shocked at the prices, once I finally found these rare file folders. One was as high as $4.98 for one transparent folder. The company wanted $70 in shipping charges, to ship a product that was $4.98. I scoured the sites until I found the folder on sale, for $1.10. Thinking I would go crazy and order my husband 13 folders, I placed the order and only paid a total of $30 for the folders, tax and shipping. I just knew he would be so surprised when they came!
A week later I heard a loud thud as the UPS man left a small box at the front door. I went out, bent over and was stunned at the difficulty in lifting this small box. I barely got it inside, opened it and found thirteen boxes of folders, each containing fifty folders.
When my husband came home that night, I presented him with the 25 pound box, that’s 650 folders to symbolize a lifetime of forever love. He’s set for life with me, in more ways than one!
So on this Frugal Friday I encourage you to spend that $30 and 25 lbs to show your husband how much you care, how you know, even the little things mean a lot.

Funny story! Sounds like something I would do! 🙂 But 25lbs of file folders does mean love, in a BIG way. 🙂
I’m late to the party but I can certainly do this tomorrow. I stayed up much too late reading The Shack so I have to head to bed. It was sweet of you to go looking for his folders!
