Writer’s Word Count
I did a little giveaway last week and to enter you had to leave me a comment on "what holds you back from being the writer you want to be?" I got a great response and enjoyed reading about…..FEAR. Well I don’t enjoy that we experience fear, but there were many comments on people being afraid to write.
Last week on Monday, I created a "menu" or plan for writing. I set goals to hit a certain word count every day and I actually tackled it. I had my best week of writing ever, and it was amazing how when I finished doing what God had asked me to do, everything else in my life just fell into place. I didn’t spend the week being nagged by all the writing I had undone.
My house was cleaner and more organized than it has been in a long time, I exercised almost every day last week and my husband and the boys were well taken care of.
So I encourage you, do whatever it is that you know you are called to do. Just do it. Don’t dream about or dread it, just do it. And if you’re a writer, set a word count goal, for every single day and then attempt to meet it.
I think you’ll be surprised.
This week I’ll be tackling an increase in my daily word count and I’m just sure my housecleaning will equally increase. Well…..we’ll see.
setting a goal is very important. Accomplishing it is even better! Great job 🙂
What a great tackle and excellent advice!! EVerything does fall into place when you are being true to yourself:-) I love that!
Such a great tackle! I always seem more at peace when I have a list and a goal.
Audra, good post and tacle! Thanks, I am taking the advice and running! Stop by to take a peak of my vacation!

Great tackle and advice! Sometimes I dread doing things and if I just do it then it really isn’t that bad. 😀
Great advice, usually the things I don’t want to do, take up very little time and when I am done I feel so much better!

Congrats on meeting your goals! (It is funny how meeting goals seem to have a domino effect….)
Great encouragment!! Thanks!
I really need to take your advice. I just need to DO IT.
There are so many ideas running through my mind, but I never take the action to follow through with any of them.
That’s great advice to tackle fear and do what God wants us to do.
Good advice and I love the word count goal idea… I might try that out. And I agree, when my priorities are in line and God is first, everything else fall in place quite nicely.
Good advice to live by… Just do it.
What a great way to accomplish goals. Thanks for sharing.
This is a great post. I’ve put off writing for years because I just believed I didn’t have time with all the stuff of motherhood surrounding me. But now that I’ve started blogging, I’ve never felt better. And I’m slowly building up the confidence to start writing, real writing, again. Thanks for the encouragement.
great inspiration audra. i need it!!! i often don’t write because i feel like it’s “all been said”…i know, it sounds like self-absorbed pity party (and it probably is.) but goals are good, i agree. i’m doing an olympic triathlon next saturday, which is a goal that i thankfully set months ago because if i was soley working out of the energy i’m living in these days i’d blow it off. blech!!! this blog inspires me, truly!!
