Tackle it Tuesday

Tackle_it_tuesday Head on over to 5 Minutes for Mom to see what everyone else is tackling this week!

It has been said that the biggest thing in a writer’s way, is clutter.  Mostly this refers to emotional clutter and talks about getting things down on paper, to "unclutter" the mind.

One of my biggest things that puts up a literal writer’s block, is clutter on my desk.  I haven’t lost a single thing yet, but I know my output is affected by the distraction of the clutter.  So, I give you my desk and you can see clutter behind the desk.  I actually filed two pieces of paper this morning, so it doesn’t look like this anymore, but it doesn’t look any better. I am posting it for accountability.  Hopefully I’ll have an "after" picture next week!

Yes, this it it.  This is where it all happens

  1. Hi Audra! Thanks for stopping by my blog and checking it out! I certainly miss a lot about CO, but I’m learning to daily appreciate new things about Brazil. (Although CO is a little hard to let go of!) 🙂 Many blessings and I look forward to checking in on your blog again.

  2. Boy, oh, boy. That looks lovely compared to mine. You have just put a fire unter my rear to get it cleaned off. As of tonight.
It seems everyone finds my desk to be the most convenient spot for stashing. I used to put signs all over the various surfaces of my house. They said, “No temporary parking spaces”. It worked until that first piece of whatever got set on top of it. Then we would have to dig to find the sign.
I quit using the signs. And now all those surfaces look like miniature reincarnations of the Rocky Mountains.
Sigh. I do so love those Rocky Mountains. Maybe if I draped all the piles with green or white fabric and used my son’s army men to stage a snowy, skiing scene, I could make money by charging admission to see it.
As you see, I am becoming desperate. Thanks for your helpful posts on the whole subject of tackling big jobs. I do so appreciate it.:)

  3. Looks like a great tackle! Be Blessed and Thanks for stopping by!

  4. My desk is my hardest tackle. All those papers and things. yuck! Good luck and can’t wait for the after picture lol.
    Blessings,

  5. Clutter is one of my biggest challenges, too. I’ll be waiting to see how your office turns out. 🙂

  6. Yeah, my desk needs it again too (she says as she throws another Dove chocolate onto the pile of papers) The Christmas tree was pressing. Maybe I’ll do my desk again soon. I have pictures on my blog of the last time I did it. Felt really good.
(opens another Dove chocolate) because chocolate helps me forget I have so much to do…
    🙂

  7. Hi Audra,
Thanks for stopping by. I haven’t commented in a while. Your site looks awesome as usual. Very interesting material this week.
I know a guy – his blog is called guynameddave.com. He has a very popular thing called The 100 Thing list. It goes along well with this post. Have you seen it already? It’s becoming known worldwide and starting a trend amongst the blogosphere.
Keep being a great mom and blogger!
