Hard Times
I do have a deep love for books. I love the way most everything in life repeats itself, goes around and comes around, weaves it's way and patches together the fabric of our lives.
So I am utterly fascinated with Hard Times by Dickens. His novel was first published in 1854 and in it, he hits Utilitarians hard. Dickens believed that trying to make society into the "greatest good for the greatest amount of people" would lead to misery. I think that was true 154 years ago and I believe it's true now.
The novel Hard Times is composed of three books. The first one is titled Sowing and appears to be based on Galatians 6:7.
"…For whatever a man sows, that he will also reap."
Many people are wondering what the world will be like on November 5 and beyond.
To answer, we must be ever so careful with what we sow at the polls, because it is that, which we will also reap.
What a great post! I like how you started out with talking about Dickens and then brought it around to the elections and the polls. You are so very right about sowing and reaping in relation to the election.
Keep talking truth!
